President Clinton and the Children
from "Talking Points" on The O'Reilly Factor

By Bill O'Reilly

Once again we are being subjected to the Clintonistas running around telling everyone that it would be unfair if the President should lose his law license. The usual excuses are being tossed around -- "what he did was not that bad, it's all a right-wing plot ... he is being unfairly singled out ... those kinds of things.

Every clear thinking American knows that the President lied to avoid losing a sexual harrassment lawsuit. That's what he did. In the end he was found out and did lose the suit. It cost him millions of dollars in penalities and legal fees.

The worst thing he did was to lie to his family and allow his wife to run around defending him when he knew what she was doing was false. That alone tells you what kind of man Mr. Clinton is.

But there are millions of Americans who don't care and who will attack me and others like me for telling the truth about the President. They are people who for whatever reason see right and wrong as liquid and not absolute. In a system based upon the rule of law that is not only foolish it is dangerous.

From the very beginning of the President's ordeal. Talking points has said that Mr. Clinton was not the most important story. That the ethical civil war he started among Americans was the real issue.

And that issue has not been resolved. Studies show that most American children cheat in school, think oral sex is no big deal, and the criminals among them are becoming more violent at an earlier age. The failure of American society to teach right and wrong at home or in school is taking a huge toll on the children and Mr. Clinton is the poster boy for moral indifference.

Kids these days are bombarded with excuses and rationalizations for terrible behavior. Kids see the Clinton spinmeisters dreaming up the most outlandish rationalizations to defend their idol. They hear all the nonsense that lying about sex is okay, that perjury should not be punished, that the President is a victim and those evil Clinton haters are at fault.

So is it any wonder that teachers all over this country are reporting more and more disrespect, irresponsibility and downright abberrent behavior from their students? It is entirely predictable.

The irony is that President Clinton used 'the children' to bolster his programs and his philosophies. It was always about our kids. But when it comes right down to it what kind of example has the President really been to our kids?
