How Would You Do It?!
December 1999
In late October, a teacher from Ohio made national "fame" for asking his pupils to write a summary on the following topic, "If you could assassinate any living person, who would it be and how would you do it?" The National Media and other various people and organizations criticized the teacher for his actions, and rightly so.
But, why did this topic make national acclaim? Why did every one decide this story was news worthy? What if the teacher had asked this question instead: "If you were to have sex with anyone living today, who would it be and how would you do it?" I would venture a guess we would never have heard the first word about this story in the main news media networks.
So, I ask you the question again? Why did this story make the national news media? The only good solution one can come up with is "gun control." The National Media is dead set on getting more gun control and fewer guns. They will take any story they think will advocate the need for more gun control and spread the news to all of America.
Yet, these same media persons will ignore any story of the same significance or more significance if it will not help there purposes in spreading whatever they believe. In fact, a person that brought the above question on sex to American's attention would probably be called a destroyer of freedom. He would be given the excuse that the sex question would be a form of therapy for those that are in bad family situations. But the assassination question is pure evil.
Well, we think both questions are equally evil and those that ignore the one over the other are just giving forth the belief that the one is okay. We do not condone what the teacher did, but we do ask that the media put the story on TV for the right reason. I suppose that is too much to ask.
