Do the Republicans Need a Woman VP?!
November 1999
With the end of Elizabeth Dole's campaign for the Presidency, many now speculate on her chances of being a Vice-Presidential running mate of the Republican candidate, whomever that may be.
Are the American people prepared for a woman candidate? Would conservative Republicans elect a woman candidate? Both of these are answered with a resounding "yes." A few years ago, the answer may have been "no," but today things have changed.
But, is Mrs. Dole the correct choice? No. What the Republicans need, if they are not going to continue to alienate their core voting block, is an ultra conservative woman candidate. Let's suggest that George W. Bush is the winner of the GOP nomination. He has already succeeded in alienating several conservative Republicans and he will have to find a way to bring these people back. We suggest that he pick a woman candidate for his VP that is a very out spoken ultra conservative in the area of social and cultural programs.
An ultra conservative woman candidate with the likes of a "Dr. Laura" might be exactly what Republicans and Americans need. Can you imagine the outrage from the socialist liberals and socialist Democrats? But would they find it any harder to tear apart such a woman candidate than any other candidate. We must not forget what happened to the last high profile conservative "minority" candidate. Justice Clarence Thomas was ripped apart by every feminist and liberal that hated his conservative policies. But such actions would continue to show these liberal hypocrisies.
An ultra conservative woman candidate would energize all of the Republican Party, but any liberal or even a moderate woman or man would just continue to destroy and rip apart the already dying GOP. People are tired of compromise and are hungry for true freedom. Peace without freedom is nothing more than Socialism, and for those that have forgotten, Socialism is just another name for Communism.
