The "People" Did Not Vote For Clinton!!
January 1999

Over and over again the Democrats and liberal media have stated that we should not overturn two elections of the American people by throwing the President out of office. We at Washington Watch Magazine would agree agree that this line of thinking may sound good, but it dismisses he whole purpose of Impeachment.

First, Impeachment was created so that we could dismiss a President while in office. So that should end the discussion, but for those that still argue the point, we have another line of thinking.

It seems that American's memories are shorter than everyone thought. Our current President was elected with less than 50% of the vote in both the election of ‘92 and the election of ‘96! When we add the fact that only about 40% of those registered to vote actually voted, and only about 60% of Americans are actually registered, we see how few people actually voted for Mr. Clinton. If you do some calculations, that means he was elected by only 12% of the American People.

So the line of thinking that the Congress should not remove a President elected by American voters is a bogus idea. President Clinton was not elected by "The American People" he and the Democrats so often say support him. The people that elected him were Americans, but he was not elected by a majority any way you look at it.
