Seagulls Are Watching

Sitting in the sand,
  staring out at the sea.
Abiding time,
  admiring this beauty.

Listening to the waves,
  and the seagulls overhead.
Seashells visit the shore,
  from their underwater seabed.

Reflecting on my sins,
  in another time and place.
Salty mist drifts,
  gently touching my face.

Remembering a kiss,
  a tear does leave.
Silent prayer,
yes, God in you I believe.

Ocean nuzzles,
  against my toes.
Silent meditation,
  on where prayers really go.

Seagulls stand watch,
  along the coast.
As if listening to our thoughts,
  silent as a ghost.
