Host: Conrad Nagel. CBS primetime game
show from World Video began as battle-of-the-sexes in
which celebrity guests played various games and
answered quizzes. By June 1952, quiz segment was
dropped and show became a variety show with Nagel
continuing to emcee. |

FREEDOM RINGS |

March-August |
|
On CBS twice weekly from March 3-August
27. A new daytime show, combining quiz game
and situation comedy, will be launched at 2 p.m. John
Beal will be the star and host for the newcomer,
Freedom Rings. The show is scheduled for Tuesdays and
Thursdays. Alice Ghostley will join Beal in the
audience participation program. Each show will give
telephone contestants and the studio audience a chance
to win prizes and money. Integrated into the show will
be a portion in which the studio audience may visit
with the “family” and participate in solving
amusing household happenings. Sounds like a half-hour
of lively and quite interesting viewing. We’ll see. |

Hutton, Eartha Kitt, Hedy Lamarr, Shari Lewis and Paul
Lynde. Other questions on this show are: Should a
married man be forced to wear a wedding ring? Do you
object to the Hollywood custom of calling everyone
darling, sweetheart or baby? |
