A new concept in wrestling camp. Learn your technique in the morning ...then
get ready. Every afternoon features real matches with every camper expected to wrestle three times a session. Keep track of your scores and have them documented. Wrestlers will also be sitting off the mat and will be assigned to ref and score the other matches. Fifteen matches, fifteen different opponents. Competition is key to getting to the next level. State champions are urged to attend this camp. Their tuition is FREE.All levels of wrestling will be accepted. Wrestlers will be divided by age, weight, and level of experience, K-12. A special Developmental Camp for beginners will be provided.CAMP PHILOSOPHY
Growing up around a rich tradition of wrestling, Royce understands the
meaning of competition. Royce believes that the only way to truly get better is to compete with a variety of other wrestlers. Royce's "Combat Camps" offer "State Champions" the opportunity to come tuition free because it only elevates his camps. "To get better, you must wrestle opponents that are better than you. This has been the genius of the Iowa Hawkeye Wrestling Program."CAMP FORMAT
Experience a new style of wrestling camp. The technical process will be
employed Iowa Style. Unlike most camps, techniques will be taught in waves. Wrestlers will be put in the learned positions and instructed to go live. This is the Dan Gable process. Learn the techniques through controlled live wrestling. Not light drilling!CAMP NOTES
Every camper is urged to bring their own water bottles, towels, mouthpieces, toothpaste, extra money for snacks, and video games.

The best young wrestlers ages 6 to 18 from Ohio and surrounding states are getting their summer wrestling program off to the best possible start by joining Olympian Ken Chertow at his second annual Gold Medal Training Camp to be held from June 15th to July 7th at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Cincinnati, OH.
This non-stop wrestling camp, has been designed to give wrestlers a distinct edge over their opponents through a carefully orchestrated sequence of personalized instruction, intense drilling and live wrestling. Participants come to understand the technique, intensity and commitment required to become a champion. The camp includes Junior Olympian Camp for kids ages 6-9, Kids Training Camp for kids ages 10-12, and Gold Medal Training Camp for teenagers.
Many high school and college wrestlers who are household names have attended Ken's summer camps multiple times - Nathan Galloway, 2002 Nat'l Senior HS Champion @ 145 pounds and named the Nat'l OW wrestler; also Nat'l Senior HS champion @ 135 pounds, Matt McIntire of Ohio's West Chester Lakota West HS; Tommy Rowlands, 2002 NCAA D1 heavyweight champion from Ohio State University; and nationally ranked CP and Dustin Schlatter from Ohio - to name just a few of today's outstanding young wrestlers with close ties to Ken Chertow's training system.
Here is a sampling of some of the outstanding clinicians to be featured at the Ohio Camp:
Tommy Rowlands - 2002 NCAA Champion at Ohio St. Long-time Gold Medal Camper.
Jeff McGinnes - 2x NCAA Champ at Iowa. 4x undefeated Iowa State Champ. Now
an attorney in Chicago.
Dave Barnes - NCAA All-American at Miami. Ryle, KY HS Coach.
Joel Greenlee - NCAA All-American. Ohio University Coach
Enrollment remains open - For complete details see http://www.kenchertow.com or call (814) 466-3466.
Of Special Note: Wrestling coaches and parents are not only welcome but are
encouraged to attend any or all of the camp sessions free of charge.
