Well one possibility may be the "FCD-2M
Flopico" by Mitsubishi. What exactly is a "Flopico"? I'm glad you
asked! The mini floppy diskette by Mitsubishi
is the equivalent of a 3.5" floppy disk, with one small twist.
It is small enough to fit inside a Type II PC Card slot. In fact that's
exactly what it does! This small wonder was developed by the company to be used in PDA's,
Digital cameras and palmtops. According to Mitsubishi the 2-mm diskette operates at about
the same speed as a normal floppy disk, holds about the same amount of data and will
initially be compatible with Windows 95, Windows3.1, Windows CE and DOS, with other
operating systems to follow. Of course we hope one of the "other" formats will
be Sharp's proprietary operating system. We can only wait and see. Oh, price, about $150
dollars for the interface. The price on the tiny diskettes will be announced at a later
date.
