The "Z" Goes Wireless!

The latest announcement by Sharp reinforces an already strong communications offering and clearly makes a statement to other PDA's on the market. "The Zaurus is here to stay!" Motorola 100D

Sharp, Motorola, Logix and ARDIS announced earlier this month two-way wireless messaging for the Zaurus ZR-5800. This new Zaurus two-way messaging system incorporates a service called "Radio Mail" by ARDIS and a two-way wireless modem by Motorola, the 100 D. This mighty combination eliminates the need for a PC card modem or the side car, and enables users to both send and receive information, e-mail and other normally wired communication functions wirelessly by utilizing the ZR-5800's PC card slot.

Some might be saying "my cellular phone and current modem card can do that". Well how about this, the Radio Mail system is a nationwide system that has no roaming charges. What's more, users are given a unique e-mail address, there is also an operator-assisted dispatch service available, not to mention headline news, sports, stock quotes and wireless Web access. But don't throw away that old PC card modem just yet, because price is an issue! Motorola sells the 100D for about $449 and the Radio Mail service starts at about $39 a month, but if money is no object then cut the cord and start sending and receiving, wirelessly!
