TRNSPLNT e-mail list subscription and settings

TRNSPLNT is a discussion list for organ transplant recipients and anyone else interested in the issues, experiences, and realities of living with an organ transplant. It also serves as an open forum for discussing, and learning about, current issues affecting the practice of transplantation and organ donation.

Use the button below to subscribe to TRNSPLNT, or configure your existing subscription.

The standard LISTSERV commands can also be e-mailed directly to listserv@wuvmd.wustl.edu. The form may not be able to recognize some addresses. If you encounter a problem you can subscribe by sending e-mail to LISTSERV@WUVMD.WUSTL.EDU and on the first line of text place Subscribe TRNSPLNT Your Name, where "Your Name" is anything you wish to be known by.

TRNSPLNT is mirrored (copied) to a USENET newsgroup, bit.listserv.transplant. Posts to TRNSPLNT are copied to the newsgroup and vice versa, so bit.listserv.transplant is an alternative to e-mail for participating with the list. You can also use the newsgroup to look over the posts and determine if you want to subscribe to the e-mail list.

Our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) is posted monthly to bit.listserv.transplant and archived in many sites that carry Usenet FAQs. One of these is Faqs.org which automatically converts web addresses into hyperlinks.

TRNSPLNT is a cooperative venture built of nothing more than volunteered resources and time. Whatever fees you pay your Internet service provider have nothing to do with TRNSPLNT. All participants have an obligation to help maintain TRNSPLNT as a useful resource by being aware of our organization and posting guidelines. A copy of the guidelines, which are e-mailed to you on subscribing, are available here: Guidelines.txt

The National Donor Sabbath is an annual event initiated by HHS. Click here for a short article they've provided. Clergy are asked to include some words in a sermon about the critical importance of their entire congregation supporting organ donation. Please inform your clergy of the event, and help them out by providing resources, and pointers to information sites. The National Donor Sabbath is on the second weekend of November, but clergy are urged to speak on the topic at any time of the year. A highly recommended resource guide prepared by the HHS can be found here:

National Donor Sabbath Manual

The Coalition on Donation is providing pins, organ donor cards, and pamphlets, promoting the sabbath through their web page. Check first with your local Red Cross, and organ procurement organization (OPO), to see if you can obtain them, or similar materials, locally. Click here for a list of local OPOs.
