The Christian Woman at Home

 

As Christian Women our role in the home is imperative to the well-being of our families physical and spiritual bodies.  Satan has endeavored [and basically succeeded] to destroy the place of beauty and honor that God has established for the Christian woman.   The Women's Liberation Movement would have us to believe that to be submissive to our husbands means that we are ignorant.  However, the true ignorance is in those that do not understand the Lord's Word concerning the role of a Christian Woman.  Rejoice, my friends because ignorance can be fixed ... only stupidity is forever.  We have much to learn, so let's begin. 

1.           The Wife Is To Be Submissive To Her Husband.

(22)           Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

(23)           For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

(24)           Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

2.     Wives Are To Love &  Respect Their Husbands.

&    Titus 2:4-5

(4)          that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

(5)       to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

&    Ephesians 5:33

“Nevertheless, let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”

3.     The Wife Is Not To Defraud Her Husband.

&    I Corinthians 7:1-5

(1)       Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me; It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

(2)       Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

(3)        Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence; and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

(4)        The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband; and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.

(5)        Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

4.       The Wife Should Be A Christian.

&    I Peter 3:1

“Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives.”

5.       The Wife Is To Be Modest In Everything.

&    I Peter 3:3-4

(3)        Whose adorning, let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

(4)        But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quite spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

(5)        For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:

(6)        Even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.

    I know that this may seem overwhelming at first, but as with all things of the Lord -- it is mankind [with the never ceasing efforts of Satan] that perplexes and overwhelms those seeking the Truth.  The Lord's will is simple and easy to fulfill.  It takes time, patience, effort and prayer.
