Directions:

1. Learn to braid a classic and a twist.
2. Part the hair front to back, as for a classic.
3. Clip off half the hair.
4. Gather a section of hair about 2-2.5 inches long at the front of the hair, parallel to the part.
5. Split the section into the required number of strands.  For this example, two.

6. Twist the individual strands towards the face.

7. Cross the strands over each other away from the face.

8. Gather another section of hair and add it to the strand which is farther from the face.

9. Gather a section of hair and add it to the strand closer to the face.

10. Twist both strands towards the face, then cross them over away from the face.

11. Begin to angle the sections you gather so that you take up more hair at the bottom than the top, causing the section lines to gradually turn roughly parallel to the part.

12. Add hair until there is no more hair to add.
13. Continue to twist and cross over the sections in the same directions as you've been doing until you come to the end of the hair.  Tie off the braid.  

Note: Twisting one way and crossing over the other way is what keeps the twist together.

14. Repeat instructions 6-13 on the other side of the head.  

Note: This means you'll be twisting and crossing over in the opposite direction.

15. Cross the right hand braid under the left hand braid.

16. Twist right-hand braid mentioned above to the left to make the cross-overs tighter.
17. Roll the braid from the end of the braid inward, then place the bun above the left-hand braid.  Make sure the left-hand braid is centered, so it looks like it is a continuation of the right-hand braid.

18. Pin the bun in at least four places so that it feels secure to the braidee.
