On July 29, 2000, Columbus Area Fish Enthusiasts and North American Native Fishes Association members gathered at the home of Tony Brehm in Reynoldsburg Ohio for a little fish appreciation. We explored a beautiful urban stream that ran through the woods by Tony's apartment building and then visited Blacklick Creek, a short drive south at Interstate 70. After the fishing, a potluck and barbeque were enjoyed by all. Thanks to Tony for planning this event, opening his home, and providing lodging for our catch! Many got their first taste of observing fishes in the wild and learned how to identify some of the midwestern species. In attendance were Tony Brehm, Ron Hedges, Ryan Timm, Mark Weilbacher and his daughter, Noah (CAFE member), Wade Hendgren, Tom Payne, Larry James, Catherine and Vivian Carney, and Mark Binkley. My appologies to those whose names have escaped me.
The next Ohio NANFA outing will be Saturday, August 12, in Mt Vernon Ohio.
