Can you tell what this is? Yes! No! Well I have had many people
ask what is it. Well something that we are not used to seeing up close.
It is a water drop. It took some experimenting, lots of help from a
great
teacher, well I guess I should say, inspiration from a great teacher.
Our
assignment was to photograph glass. He suggested I use a water drop
instead
of a glass, I would get the same effect and would be more of a challenge
for me than the glass. How did I do this? Well first off lots of patience,
next, 3 rolls of film, and finally, the light set up. I used three
strobes,
two at the rear and, soft box off to the right front side. The lens
was
a 1:2 macro. Finally I had an assistant hold a water dropper above
the
container that oddly enough was a film developing tank. If you look
real
close at some of the drops you can see the back ground set up. Each
of
the next few shots were all done at the same time, I would watch the
water
drop fall from the drop point and then fryer the shutter, and flash.
The
result, well you are looking at it. Thanx Bill!
